Aja was born and raised in California. Her degree in behavioral science gives her an appreciation for everyone she meets. Patient care starts at the front desk and is something Aja takes a lot of pride in. She understands the anxieties that come with visiting the dentist and strives to make our patients feel at ease. Aja began working in the dental community four years ago and fell in love with the field. She thoroughly enjoys the patient interaction and seeing patients leave happy and confident.
Aja has resided in California, Missouri, Wyoming and Manitoba, Canada. However, Alaska captured her heart and has become a permanent home to her and her family.
When not in the office Aja enjoys hiking, long distance running, skiing, camping, fishing and gardening. Aja has a great love for the outdoors and enjoys taking in everything Alaska has to offer. She is very appreciative of the amazing community we live in and its beautiful surroundings that allow her to do what she loves with her husband and three daughters.
Everyone needs to be passionate about what they do. Everyone wants to have a positive impact in peoples’ lives. This is true of my role in dentistry. With 25 years of experience as a dental hygienist, I feel it is very important to build relationships with people and try to connect to put them at ease. Over the years I feel privileged to have been able to serve in the bush community of Naknek, the North Slope community of Barrow, and the town of Sitka on Baranof Island in beautiful Southeast Alaska. Being able to participate in the local community service opportunity of Alaska Mission of Mercy is another highlight of my career.
Here at Lane Family Dental, everything is very much a team effort and we all strive to make it a family-oriented atmosphere.
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband and 4 dogs. I also love swimming, travel, gardening, reading and most recently have taken up knitting.
Marina’s burning passion in helping others encouraged her to start her journey in the medical field as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). Seeing the dental needs as a CNA inspired her to embark on a new
career. Marina has graduated from Dental Assisting school in 2016. Being an adventurous person, Marina always seeks opportunities to travel and serve people through humanitarian and church mission trips. As a typical Alaskan girl, fishing and camping are high on her list as well as spending quality time with family, friends, and music. It is very gratifying and rewarding for Marina to be able to touch a patient’s life by giving back their smile and enhancing their life quality. As a personal goal, Marina strives to make people feel welcome, with her smile and enthusiasm Marina brings comfort and care to all patients. The positive atmosphere and the integrity of this office is very appreciated.
Rachael was born and raised in Alaska, doing all “Alaskan” things growing up. After high school she went on to have a successful wrestling career at Lindenwood University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Pre-Nursing. After graduating college she became a graduate-assistant, coaching women’s wrestling and working on her Master of Business Administration at Missouri Baptist University. She was eventually offered a full-time Assistant position at Wayland Baptist University in Texas and accepted that. After realizing that Texas was not her cup of tea she moved back HOME and landed herself a dental assistant position at Lane Family Dental.
You will not find her at home, unless…well no, you will not find her at home. She spends her time around the things she loves, and is always trying new things. You may find her spending time with her other half, their dogs, friends and family, playing softball, shooting darts, trying to hit a puck with a stick while on two blades, trekking to find some new scenery, or somewhere she can put a line in the water.
